Madison during the summer is full of live music! A great way to spend your summer nights is finding different ways to get down and groove to free, live music. Here are 10 of the best places to do so in Madison!

Leopold’s is a great place to catch some live music on Regent Street. From classical, to folk, to DJs, there are many different performers that one can see at Leopold’s.

While it serves as a coffee shop every day of the week, Lakeside Street Coffee House becomes a great spot to catch local artists. Most Friday nights there are different artists of different styles. They also serve drinks for people to enjoy while they listen!.

Concerts on the Square is back and better than ever. The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra is back to bring classical music to the Madison community. This is their 41st season, and conductor Andrew Sewell’s 25th. You are able to reserve a table, but this is not necessary to enjoy the lovely performances.

A classic spot to get your live music fix in Madison is the terrace! Along with different artists performing, there are open mic nights for the public to show off their various talents.

Throughout this summer, Essen Haus has live polka music every Friday and Saturday night from 7-11. Grab a stein of beer and get your polka on!

If you are looking for live music to dance to, Cardinal Bar is the spot for you. They often have various Latin Music performances, DJs and more. Grab your dancing shoes and head over to the Cardinal Bar. There is sometimes a cover, but this is the small price to pay for great music.

Different bands will be coming to the rooftop this summer for free concerts. The rooftop and Lake Vista Café will open at 5:30. on nights of concerts, and the concerts will run from 7-9 p.m. You can get your free tickets here for the different concerts.

Every Tuesday, weather permitting from 12-1 p.m., there are free concerts on the King Street walkway of Capitol Square. These concerts will be happening June-August, so try to catch a couple! Grab your blanket and packed lunch, and enjoy some tunes during your work week.

Various Fridays and Saturdays, the Wisconsin Brewing Company offers live music for folks to enjoy. These concerts take place outside and are sometimes joined by food trucks, so you can grab a bite along with your pint!

🍔 Garver

Last, but certainly not least, Garver offers outdoor concerts some Thursdays and every Friday throughout the summer! There are also food trucks with service starting at 5 p.m., and the concerts starting at 6 p.m. Music will move inside if there is inclement weather.
