00:00:00

There are so many different gardens that are open to community access. To be exact, there are 4000 community garden plots on 47 acres throughout Dane County. We broke down a couple in different parts of Madison for folks to check out.

And when you’re done harvesting, learn how to turn your bounty into pickled and fermented goods to last all year round!

Registration is usually on the first Saturday in March at Lakeview Lutheran Church. In the meantime, you can also put yourself on the waitlist.

Black Hawk Middle School and Lindbergh Elementary also offer different community gardens. At Black Hawk Middle School there are 44 plots open to the community. Contact the garden registrar at gardenregistrar@gmail.com or 608-698-0577 to be added to the waitlist. As for Lindbergh Elementary, there are 20 family plots for rental.
