🧱 So Personalized Bricks Aren’t Here To Stay?

• The Hall of Fame Brick Walk on UW-Madison's campus is set to be demolished. This is located outside of the Camp Randall Sports Center, better known as the Shell, which is soon being remodeled for a new athletic facility.
• The walk has been around since the early 1990s, and people who paid to have a brick in the walkway were told that it would be permanent. If you have a brick in the walkway, you can register to pick it up by Sept. 8.

📚 Wisconsin Book Festival Line-Up Just Dropped

• The 23rd annual Wisconsin Book Festival will be taking place Oct. 17-20 at Central Library and other partner venues. They have just announced the writers that will be presenting — many of whom will be coming from all over the country.
• There will be more than 60 authors at a variety of events throughout the four-day extravaganza. Check out the Wisconsin Book Festival website for more information on who will be in attendance.

🏛️ Out With the Old, In With the New

• Demolition of the old Wisconsin Historical Society will begin this month. This 38-year-old building is getting a whole new makeover — a $160.5 million makeover to be exact. The new building will be a five-story, 100,000-square-foot museum that will include a community gallery, cafe, and event space.
• There will be fencing put up around the building located at 30 N. Carroll St., but the historical society does not expect long street closures during the construction period. [🔒WSJ]
