| 🧱 So Personalized Bricks Aren’t Here To Stay? | - The Hall of Fame Brick Walk on UW-Madison's campus is set to be demolished. This is located outside of the Camp Randall Sports Center, better known as the Shell, which is soon being remodeled for a new athletic facility.
- The walk has been around since the early 1990s, and people who paid to have a brick in the walkway were told that it would be permanent. If you have a brick in the walkway, you can register to pick it up by Sept. 8.
- To learn more, check out today’s Friday news roundup where incoming newsletter editor Rob Thomas makes his podcast debut to dish about the brick drama. Plus executive producer Hayley Sperling and I talk traffic changes that are coming to the isthmus soon (AKA get ready for lane closures and big buses!). Correction — In our newsletter Sept. 4, we covered a new survey discussing rent costs for students at UW-Madison. There was an inaccurate number within that story. According to the survey commissioned by the city and UW, the average rent cost for students is $1,273, not $1,723. Thank you to reader Kasia R. for catching this error! |
