Spring is here and Madison is alive with a whole bunch of events to fill up your calendar. Here’s a look at some notable happenings around town this month.

🗳️ First and foremost, the election is April 2. Do you know where to vote? Do you have the proper ID? Get all of the details you need then get to know who’s on your ballot with help from City Cast Madison.

🎷 All-around rockstar and music legend Herbie Hancock will be at the Orpheum April 3. Who’s ready to dance?

🎦 April 4 marks the start of the Wisconsin Film Festival. Expect dozens of showings across multiple venus — old and new! — around town. Go beyond the screens with this sneak peek from City Cast Madison.

🤖 Curious about AI and the role big tech plays in journalism? On April 5, UW-Madison’s 2024 Journalism Ethics Conference will answer this question and more with leading industry experts like Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Julia Angwin.

💅 Get your dancing shoes on, girls because Dyke Dive is throwing a Pink Pony Club party on April 13 at the Bur Oak. If that’s not your scene, give polka a try at the Polka Party happening downtown on April 18.

🛍️ Looking to shop? Check out the Collectibles Flea Market on April 14 at the Barrymore. The annual Midwest Vintage Flea will take over Garver Feed Mill on April 20, which happens to also be Record Store Day. There are plenty of other flea markets happening this month too.
