City Council2025 Election

This year, all 20 of Madison's City Council seats are up for election. Why? Back in 2023, Madison voters overwhelmingly approved a measure to elect alders on two-year staggered terms.

This is the first year that measure has been put into action and to start everyone off on the same footing, all seats are up for election with alders in even-numbered districts running for one-year terms and alders in odd-numbered districts running for the full two-year term.

To get to know the candidates and get their takes on the issues, we sent out a 10 question survey to all eligible candidates.
